Humanitarian aid
When disaster strikes, wiping away the infrastructure of villages and leaving the locals without food, water, shelter or basic living supplies, Coastair is committed to reaching the victims by air and delivering their basic needs
Since the Kosovo war, Coastair has operated numerous relief flights for various aid agencies, including NGOs. Organizations such as CARE International, The Red Cross, Oxfam and the International Rescue Committee are a few examples of NGOs providing first line humanitarian emergency aid to victims of (natural) disasters. Some of these organizations specialize in providing emergency aid, while others specialize in development aid or a combination of both. If a conflict arises, both are required. In the first instance measures need to be taken to quickly respond to the crisis. This can be done by offering emergency aid. Once the conflict has been defused, development aid can be offered. This is a long-term process to rebuild the economic, social and political structure of a country. In this respect the focus is on the development of the major components of society, such as education, healthcare, jobs and infrastructure.
We have the experience and operational skills to deploy the required aircraft into hostile areas on very short notice.
